Field Trips
The Sacramento Children's Museum (SCM) is the perfect field trip destination for your class!
We invite you and your students to experience an environment specifically tailored to their learning and developmental needs. Studies confirm that while children play in children's museums, observable and quantifiable learning takes place. From simple cause and effect, to fine motor skills, to informational and procedural learning, our exhibits and programs are designed to engage children in simple and complex forms of play that result in foundational learning. A field trip to the Sacramento Children's Museum sparks lifelong learning through the power of play! Details: Field trips are ideal for groups of 8 to 70 visitors from preschool through 3rd grade and their chaperones. Must be affiliated with a school (public, charter, state, private or home), preschool, school district or County Office of Education, child-care facility, camp program, or a non-profit children's organization. Enjoy 90 minutes to explore the Museum's FUN hands-on, self-guided, interactive visit after being greeted by SCM staff. Hours: Reservations are available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Field trips are not available on Friday. Visiting the SCM will give your students a hands-on multi-sensory, exhibit-based experienced. That which is new and different will pique and challenge children's curiosity, giving teachers a springboard for teachable moments, integrated lessons, and information that is relative to the global classroom. We welcome student groups and class field trips. Please contact our Museum to schedule your class trip.
