Announcements & Special Events

  • SCM is pleased to announce the addition of Thursday Night Members-Only Summer Hours! Starting June 21, 2012, the Museum will be open exclusively to members every Thursday night from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. To celebrate this exciting annoucement, please join us for our Summer Kick-Off Member Appreciation Night! All members are welcome to attend, and we will have music, refreshments, outdoor activities, and of course - Museum play! RSVP HERE!
  • Join SCM Staff for Story Time every Tuesday at 10 am and 2 pm!
  • We are happy to introduce SCM's new program, Cultural Connections!  Visit on Thursdays at 2 pm to learn about countries around the world.  We are learning about the Mexico in the month of May.
  • Music and Movement is offered every Friday at 10 am and 11 am.  Classes fill fast, so make sure to be early!
  • Remember...
    We enjoy group visits on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays of each week.  Please plan your visit accordingly.  SCM welcomes all visitors during group visits.  Feel free to call 916-638-7225 prior to your visit for more information on estimated attendance.  If you are an organized group, check out SCM Field Trips!
  • The Museum is OPEN on Monday, May 28th from 9 AM - 5PM.
